It was a chilly winter day
when I first saw your kind smile
as you passed me by.
And I don't know why but that image
came to stay in my mind for days to come

 Life continued as ever
time moved forward
and yet I
I stood still like a mountain
unable to move from my roots.

 Then came spring and like magic
you came back into my life
like a beautiful wind

now and forever
yet I couldn't say a word.

 As surely as seasons change
you went away
Left me standing all alone
